Recovering What Was Lost In The Garden

For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost." NASB. Luke 19:10
What was lost when Adam and Eve sinned? To start we must realize that sin separated us from God. This means the relationship we were created to have with God was cut off (spiritual death which released death into all of creation).
So Jesus came to restore our relationship with God and paid the price of redeeming that relationship with his death and resurrection. Once again we have the opportunity to have spiritual life, which is the beginning of having the full measure of Life we were created to have.

Relationship with God is our Created purpose and it is what was lost in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve rebelled and disobeyed God.

But God....
He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13-14.

Now we can, even as Enoch did live a life that is pleasing to God. This life is marked by Faith and Habitual fellowship with God.

Genesis 5:24 24 And Enoch walked [in habitual fellowship] with God; and he was not, for God took him [home with Him].

Hebrews 11:5 By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God
6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Diligently build a relationship with God as you walk [in habitual fellowship] with God; For he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him and respond in faith to His Word.

JESUS IS CLEAR ABOUT MAKING DISCIPLES ARE WE?

Matt. 28:18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Biblical Discipleship is not complicated; it needs no new phrase to understand it. It does however require that we study the gospels and both observe and listen to Jesus.

If you are used to a Cut and Paste Bible You Should Try the Real thing so that you get everything God has for You!

For Us Discipleship Starts as God prepares our heart so that when we hear the Gospel we say yes to Him as Lord and Savior! For God it started before the foundation of the world.

Biblical Discipleship In Real Life

What does Discipleship look like in real life? There are many good books about Discipleship and being a God Pleaser. But before you run out to buy them you should check with “the author and finisher of our faith”, Hebrews 12:2.

While we are to be a part of a local church and respect God’s appointed leaders we also have an individual responsibility to be growing in God’s Grace and Power. The reality is that authors and church leaders are examining the Bible, church history and other sources to write their books.

We are told to study to show ourselves approved of God in 2 Timothy. 2:15.

You and I have a great task, which God desires we succeed at described in Matthew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” If we are not becoming Biblical Disciples we will not be making Biblical Disciples.

Philippians 2:12 “Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear.”

If you read the Bible from Cover to Cover you will discover what a good disciple or person after God's heart lives like. Then it is up to us to submit ourselves completely to God so that we may be conformed to His image. Copywrite (C) Wayne Newcomb 2013

So Your a new Christian Step 3

LESSON THREE: HOW TO GROW IN YOUR NEW FAITH

Study the Word of God:  You cannot grow without food. Just as natural food supplies the energy for your physical growth, the Holy Bible is the food which supplies the energy for your spiritual growth. Your spiritual growth will be in direct proportion to your increasing knowledge of God's Word. Personal Bible study must become a part of your daily routine.  Start by reading the book of John.

Pray:  Use the  teaching of Jesus and His instruction on Prayer to guide you in daily life and prayer Matthew 6:1-13.

Matt. 6:1 TAKE CARE not to do your good deeds publicly or before men, in order to be seen by them; otherwise you will have no reward [areserved for and awaiting you] with and from your Father Who is in heaven. 2 Thus, whenever you give to the poor, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites in the synagogues and in the streets like to do, that they may be arecognized and honored and praised by men. Truly I tell you, they have their reward bin full already. 3 But when you give to charity, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 So that your deeds of charity may be in secret; and your Father Who sees in secret will reward you openly.

5 Also when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by people. Truly I tell you, they have their reward ain full already. 6 But when you pray, go into your [most] private room, and, closing the door, pray to your Father, Who is in secret; and your Father, Who sees in secret, will reward you in the open. 7 And when you pray, do not heap up phrases (multiply words, repeating the same ones over and over) as the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard for their much speaking. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.

9 Pray, therefore, like this: Our Father Who is in heaven, hallowed (kept holy) be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven (aleft, remitted, and let go of the debts, and have bgiven up resentment against) our debtors. 13 And lead (bring) us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Attend a local Bible-believing church so your new faith will be strengthened.

Make friends with others who are changing their lives through Christ.  Become a peace-maker instead of a trouble maker, a problem-solver instead of a problem.
